“As a photographer and artist, receiving feedback from the community can be especially rewarding and being surrounded by the passionate energy of actors and actresses is infectious.“
The joys of volunteerism
I enjoy giving back to my community as a semi-professional photographer. From my websites, you will see that I’m connected to some great organizations: HeartsApart.org, Renaissance Theatre Company, Breast Cancer Solutions and others. Volunteering allows me to meet many people from all walks of life from the professional soldier leaving for duty to the humble actor to the man or woman suffering from cancer.
Most recently, I was promoting images that I took for the marketing for Hamlet here in Laguna Hills Community Center for the Renaissance Theatre Company. I shot behind the scenes (BTS), candids and promotional imagery for the Company. I gotta say that I loved it! So rewarding to work with this passionate, dedicated group of individuals.
For the promotion of Hamlet, I released over 300 images for publication with one published in the local paper.
As a photographer and artist, receiving feedback from the community can be especially rewarding and being surrounded by the passionate energy of actors and actresses is infectious. By far, volunteering has had the highest reward – the benefit of sharing one’s time for a common goal.
